Evaristo Benitez

Evaristo Benítez was born in Azuaga (Badajoz, Spain) in 1957.

He currently works in Barcelona creating intense activity in the fields of painting, sculpture and graphic techniques.

One of the characteristics of Benitez work’s is materialization of movement, flow, smoke, currencies, changes of states and of positions creating a surprising metaphor for the rigidity of the materials that he usually uses (marble, lead, bronze, iron) what contrasts with the sensation of movement that his work transmits to us.

Shown interest in the technical possibilities that the video as expressive means offers him, Benitez starts a new trajectory in 2006, and creates several videos with ob-art produccions such as “Saturated Systems”, “D'Après Courbet”, “They will inherit the Earth" and "Lux Mundi".

In 2007, he presents his last videos "Teoria del Todo", "Ondina" and "Tempus Fugit".
