Gorka Herrera was born in the Basque Country, in Hernani, in 1970. As a self-taught man, he was politically committed in finding an aesthetic way out of the Basque labyrinth. He moved to Gasteiz, a considerably calmer yet less artistic atmosphere. He took his first steps in the world of video-art by making documentary films of the actions taken by the Basque police. But he soon turned into less political issues. In 2003 he met the "Colectivo Bar" and he joined their communal budgets.
